If you manage heat networks, then you know how difficult it can be to make sense of all the information presented to you across various spreadsheets.
At Insite Energy, we understand the challenges you face, which is why we introduced VANTAGE - an all-in-one client portal designed to simplify heat network management. We're excited to share that we've taken VANTAGE to the next level, incorporating new features that will revolutionise the way you manage your heat networks.
Since launching the portal in 2021, 97 clients now have access to VANTAGE, providing us with many more streams of feedback. Based on this, we've made significant updates to ensure your experience is more intuitive and efficient than ever before.

Meter health reporting: Accurate data for informed decisions
One of the cornerstones of effective heat network management is meter health. Accurate data ensures accurate billing for heat network customers. We're thrilled to announce a new feature in VANTAGE that enhances meter health reporting, providing you with more precise meter reads from various meter types and integrations. Our expanded columns, including 'out of comms,' 'supply off yet consuming,' and 'potential faulty meter', offer you real-time and historical meter data that's more comprehensive than ever before.
How to use it: To assess the necessity of heat meter maintenance, for example, navigate to the 'meter health' report in the left-hand menu on VANTAGE. Utilise the scheme and date range filters in the top-right corner. Expand the table and sort the 'Potential faulty meter' column from yes (Y) to no (N). This allows you to efficiently identify residents requiring heat meter servicing.
Financial management: Empowering informed financial decisions
Debt management reporting:
We understand that managing debt is a critical aspect of financial management. To aid in this, we've introduced three new columns - last payment received value, last payment received date, and account closure date. These additions provide you with a comprehensive view of payment behaviours, enabling you to assess debt risk better.
Financial overview update:
We've introduced two reports on one page that offer you a holistic overview of your financial performance and a detailed breakdown of energy tariff rate history. With the new ‘Financial overview’ page, alongside existing dashboards, you gain instant insights into scheme-level financial analysis too, streamlining the management of the financial aspect of your heat network.
Payment transaction reports:
Our new payment transaction report breaks down transactions, either itemised or grouped by residential account. The overview can be viewed on screen and downloaded at the click of a button, allowing for easy and swift transaction filtering.
Enhanced usability for seamless management
Downloadable documents:
We've made key documents, including customer bills and payment reminders, easily accessible on a new ‘Documents’ screen. All documents can also be downloaded. This enhancement ensures that crucial documents are always at your fingertips for quick reference.
Consumption graph hover:
The consumption bar chart on the main dashboard of VANTAGE has been to be more intuitive than ever. By hovering over the ‘month bar,' you can instantly view the kilowatt-hour (kWh) data. Consumption data is also split out by pay-as-you-go and credit billing accounts, making it effortless to understand usage during selected periods.
Pre-selected calendar periods:
Eliminate the hassle of lengthy calendar filtering with the option to select various combinations of pre-selected time periods at the click of a button. This feature simplifies and accelerates the process of period selection, allowing you to focus on the insights that matter most.
