Plant room & distribution network maintenance

Bespoke & flexible contracts

A well-maintained plant room supports the comfort, safety and satisfaction of your residents, reducing costs and regulatory compliance risks. With our engineers being trained to CIBSE Code of Practice for Heat Networks (CP1) standards, they have a first-time fix-rate of 90% ensuring reliable supply of heating and hot water to your residents.

Boiler maintenance

Faulty boilers can be hugely problematic in your heat network. Not only could it mean that your residents would be without heating and hot water, but it also has potential safety risks, such as gas leaks or carbon monoxide emissions. Boiler maintenance is included in our plant room offering to ensure the safety of your residents and efficient provision of heat.

CHP system maintenance

The use of a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) system can avoid network losses and reduce emissions. CHP systems can pose a safety risk when not maintained to industry regulations. Having continued proactive maintenance can also prolong the lifespan of your CHP, reducing costs, while making the system more energy efficient.

Water quality treatment

Failure to monitor and maintain water quality from the plant room through to the HIU can lead to system failures, with 15% of UK heat network faults being a direct result of water quality issues. That is why our engineers carry out periodic water quality testing and provide treatment to ensure your heat network is in optimum condition.

Other plant room assets

In addition to the boiler and CHP, we also maintain the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Condition (HVAC) systems, electrical systems, control systems, and the insulated pipe network that provides heat from the plant room to your residents’ HIUs. This holistic offering ensures that your plant room operates effectively, safely and efficiently.

Emergency plant room repairs

The higher the number of heat network assets in your plant room, the greater the risk of one of them breaking down. This could leave your residents without heating & hot water for an extended period of time or even put their safety at risk. Insite has a first-time fix-rate of 90% and our engineers aim to restore supply within 24 hours.

To ensure your heat network runs as efficiently as possible, we recommend combining domestic and plant room planned maintenance.

Planned plant room maintenance

Insite’s planned maintenance for plant rooms is designed to maximise the lifespan of the heat network assets installed. Regular maintenance visits ensure your plant room works safely and in-line with industry regulations. With our annual and biennial maintenance offering, you continue to keep control of your network.

To ensure your heat network runs as efficiently as possible, we recommend combining domestic and plant room planned maintenance.
