About your meter

The heating and hot water that you use in your home is measured using a smart energy meter or a heat meter. This means you will only ever pay for the amount you use.

Below are the meter types used in your development.

Guru Hub

Your heating and hot water use is measured using Guru Hub, a smart energy meter. This ensures you are only charged for what you use along with a daily standing charge. This is a popular metering and billing solution that is linked to our PayPoint payment system. Your Guru Hub allows you to easily monitor your heating and hot water use, as well as the payments that you make. Your smart meter sends your meter readings to us automatically, so you don't need to take them manually. The Guru Hub is connected to Insite Energy’s payment system via the internet, so we will always know how much credit you’ve purchased.

Credit Billing

If you have been signed up for credit billing by your heat provider, you will have a heat meter in your home which looks something like the example opposite. Your heat meter will be found either inside or alongside your Heat Interface Unit (HIU), which is normally found in the utility cupboard in your home. You should receive a paper bill in the first week of each month, after you have been in your home for more than one whole month. If you’d prefer to receive your bill via email, please get in touch to let us know. You will then receive your bill in PDF format via email each month.
