Insite Energy and Guru to host webinar on the latest heat network regulations

25th January 2021

Press release

Insite Energy and Guru Systems are to host a 45-minute webinar on February 11th 2021 to help landlords operating heat networks understand their obligations as a result of recent changes to the Heat Network (Metering & Billing) Regulations.

The updated regulations require an estimated 84,000 homes on existing heat networks to start billing customers transparently and based on actual heat energy consumption. To do this, properties will need to be retrofitted with metering devices as well as a system to capture data from these metering devices and bill customers based on that data. The updated regulations include a revised version of the cost-effectiveness assessment tool which can be used to support heat suppliers to assess whether it is cost-effective to install metering devices.

The webinar will help heat suppliers to understand:

  • Key requirements of the updated regulations and how Insite Energy can support with the cost effectiveness assessment tool;
  • How data captured for metering & billing purposes can also be used to improve the efficiency of heat networks and to manage operating costs;
  • Considerations for a successful retrofit metering & billing solution, and the support available for heat suppliers and their residential schemes, and;
  • A case study of a successful retrofit project undertaken by Insite Energy and Guru Systems will be presented. Speakers will include Emily Lister of Insite Energy and Casey Cole of Guru Systems.

This webinar is suitable for heat suppliers who expect to deliver retrofit projects in order to comply with the updated Heat Network (Metering & Billing) Regulations, or heat network operators interested in how data can be used to improve the efficiency of heat networks.

To attend, please sign up to the event via Eventbrite. Joining instructions will be provided via email.

Note: This webinar is suitable for all but priority will be given to organisations acting as ‘heat suppliers’ as defined in the Heat Network (Metering & Billing) Regulations.
