‘my insite’ web-app gives heat network residents greater control of their energy accounts

Heat network services provider Insite Energy has launched ‘my insite’, a resident portal designed to simplify account management and improve the resident experience.

A resident energy portal for simpler account management

‘my insite’ gives residents clear visibility of their utility account. They can view balances, make one-off or automatic payments, and access their payment history from a single portal. Insite Energy provides the portal at no additional cost to both credit-billed and pay-as-you-go (PAYG) residents on schemes managed through our metering & billing service. Ellie Blacklock, Customer Experience Director at Insite Energy, said:

“Self-serve and digitat technology continue to evolve in the utility industry. Looking at our own data, we found that 88% of our residents make payments online. To help us continually provide market-leading customer service, creating a resident portal that is easily accessible became crucial to us,”

“With ‘my insite’, residents can manage their account details, make online payments, view their payment history and much more, all from any internet-connected device. All these automated features remain supported by our ‘Excellent’ Trustpilot rated team.”

Simplified payments to enhance the user experience

PAYG residents can top-up their accounts online via ‘my insite’. They can also make payments by phone using our automated payment line, via SMS, or in person at PayPoint outlets. Credit billed residents can make a one-off payment or set-up a Direct Debit online via ‘my insite’. Alternatively, they can continue paying by standing order, Post Office or Payzone. Importantly, vulnerable residents can still make payments over the phone with one of our advisors.

    Supporting residents while improving outcomes

By offering multiple payment options, ‘my insite’ helps remove barriers to payment and reduce resident effort. In addition, automated top-ups and Direct Debits can help improve payment collection and cashflow performance for clients.

Additionally, data collected by Kurve Technologies from one private scheme on both credit billing and PAYG has shown that households on PAYG consume up to 28% less energy. As residents will gain increased visibility of their account balance with ‘my insite’, Insite Energy expects the easy-to-access resident portal to reduce consumption by residents as well.

‘my insite’ is the latest digital innovation from Insite Energy and follows the launch of our client portal VANTAGE. Together, the portals allow for simpler management of heat networks on both the resident and client side.
