KURVE has scooped a high-profile digital innovation award at the Decentralised Energy Awards from the Association for Decentralised Energy (ADE). The web-app is the first digital smart metering pay-as-you-go (PAYG) platform developed specifically for heat networks.
The judges declared the joint venture between Insite Energy and SAV Systems the standout winner in the ‘Heat and Efficiency: Digital Innovation’ category. In a video message relayed at the awards ceremony, which was held online on 16th June 2021, Judge Sumit Bose, Founder of Future Net Zero, remarked:
“It was KURVE all the way. It was smart. I liked the way the technology was segued into things, the way it worked in terms of how it was very, very effective. Cost management was great. And it had a certain something about it which I can’t quite put my finger on, but, for me, it really had stand-out qualities to win.”
Empowering residents with simple, flexible PAYG heat control
KURVE gives residents control over their heating wherever they are, using any internet-connected device. Through the KURVE web-app, customers can view their energy usage and access historical consumption data. As a result, they can better understand their energy usage and make behavioural changes accordingly. They can also make quick and easy payments 24/7. The platform meets a long-standing need for a low-cost, PAYG, heat-network metering solution. Importantly, it does so without compromising service, quality or convenience.

Insite Energy’s Project Manager for KURVE, Ellie Blacklock, said: “Insite Energy is technology agnostic and we specify a wide range of metering and billing platforms as per our clients’ needs. Increasingly, when we lay all the options onto the table at meetings with developers, housing associations and managing agents, it is the KURVE web-app that comes out as the ‘no brainer’, due to its simplicity and cost-savings. This experience, now backed up by our ADE award, makes all the hard work developing KURVE worthwhile. We’re really happy with this industry recognition.”
Continued awards success at the Energy Awards 2021
The Energy Awards 2021 shortlisted KURVE for the ‘Digital Innovation of the Year’ category. This celebrates innovation, business excellence, customer service and collaboration. KURVE’s shortlisting in the ‘Digital Innovation of the Year’ category is in recognition of the significant benefits it brings to residents, housing providers, energy suppliers and the environment.
